The wrap-around Grand Porch is the social center of Captains’ Quarters, where you are likely to meet both interesting village residents and travelers from many ports. This inviting setting plays host to the casual elegance of a gourmet breakfast, a late afternoon glass of wine, or an evening’s sweet tea. The gentle breezes and friendly conversation found here are at the heart of Oriental.
Beyond its doors, the atmosphere of charm and tranquility of Captains’ Quarters continues, set by beautiful heart-of-pine flooring and high ceilings. Captains’ Quarters is refreshingly cool in summer and invitingly warm and cozy in the winter.
The Captain’s Table
Morning is a busy time at Captains’ Quarters. Guests enjoy fresh-brewed gourmet coffee as introductions are made by Captain Roy. Meanwhile, Annick prepares home made muffins, mouth watering quiches, egg casseroles, fresh fruits and other delectable fare from the bounty of our local farmers market.
Guests may take breakfast either at the Captain’s Table, or outside on the wrap-around porch’s white table cloth covered bistro tables. Both settings are wonderful places to enjoy a good breakfast and welcome the day.
The bedrooms of Captains’ Quarters are planned to pamper you. They are impeccably clean, lushly carpeted, and feature queen-size, mahogany four-poster beds and furnishings. For your comfort and convenience, every room is equipped with heat and air conditioning under your control, as well as Key West-style ceiling fans. Your private bathroom includes the convenience of a hairdryer, health and beauty amenities and fluffy towels for a fresh, clean feeling.
The Captain's Suite offers privacy for a larger party. Its two bedrooms and large bathroom are connected by a private hallway. The master bedroom is equipped with Captains’ Quarters queen-size, mahogany four poster bed and furnishings. The adjoining room has a comfortable double pull-out sofa bed.
